Where you going?
Bible Readings: John 13: 20-38.
Meditation Song: Face to face
John 13:36 Simon Peter said, Lord, where are you going? Jesus answered him where I go, now I can follow; but follow me afterwards.
look at this passage three wonderful lessons.
First, the sky desired. How often, when the burdens of life seem unbearable, unrelenting death and has been one of our loved ones, our mouths open like Peter to express the desire to be released and be with the Lord, which is much better, and say, 'Why not now? ".
Heaven deferred. The emphasis of the Master lies here in word "can not." is indeed so, and the impediment is not some arbitrary edict of the divine power, but in his infinite knowledge and wisdom, which can not err. Peter was not fit for heaven at that time. There were lessons of great importance that had to receive in the future.
had to learn to know himself and Christ, and grace Father in his heart, becoming a new man Pedro.
When proudly boasted that his life would Jesus was thus the best evidence that was unknown to himself. I had to change his passionate sobriety soulish decisions and direction of the Holy Spirit, since it came in a special way on the day of Pentecost Peter began to be someone else. I had to learn to trust the power of the Savior, who lived in her heart. It had to be adhered to another and taken where they wanted, ie surrender his free will to the Lord, only then would the time come purpose to "leave their body."
Heaven guaranteed. But "follow me afterwards." There was no doubt with what Jesus said and not just any man. This warranty is not held in what we can do or fail to do, but what our Lord take place at Calvary for us. How often, in future times of trouble and grief, these words of the Master they would like a fortress to our hearts. No matter, have or be tired for a moment on this earth, there is bliss for us, his children, since the final undoubtedly follows the promise "follow me afterwards";
this encourages our hope and our submission to the will of the Father, as the culmination of the time we left home.
