Meditation Song: I want to be like you
Luke 18:14 I tell you this man went down to his house justified but it does not; For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Luke 14:11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
"I tell you this man went down to his house justified but that no"
The publican was justified by its transparency, he acknowledged that only could not with his sin and humble before Him and repent, for that attitude, the publican was justified.
The publican's prayer was full of humility and repentance for sin, and desire, by God Father .
His prayer was short, but with one goal: God be merciful to me a sinner . God Bless Dad, we have recorded this short prayer and answered prayer, and we are sure that the one who said returned home justified, and will with us today pray with an attitude of child through Jesus Christ. The publican was recognized sinner by nature and habit, guilty before God. Not depend on anything but the grace and mercy of God, only she trusted. God's glory is to resist the proud and gives grace to the humble. Justification is of God in Christ, so that confronts himself, not to justify himself, is justified before God.
The text says:
" because everyone who exalts be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."
The Greek is jupsoo υψόω, up; related jupsos, elevation, height Acts 13:17 "lifted"); of exaltation in pride and, in contrast, being elevated to the honor, as a result of self-abasement ( Matthew 23:12 "Whoever exalts himself", etc..; Luke 14:11, 18.14, are parallel passages)
Another expression epairo επαίρω , up (epi, up, angry, lift)
Metaphorically, to exalt oneself, to vaunt (10:5 2Coritios "any thing that exalts itself ', 11: 20:" If anyone is exalted ").
The following expression " but he who humbles himself will be exalted" jupsoo υ ̔ ψόω lift, is used: (a) literally lifting of Christ in his crucifixion ( John 3:14, 8.28, 12.32, 34), illustratively, the bronze serpent (John 3:14), in all these cases led to the raising verb, in this text means that we are exalted, exalted, lifted up Jesus Christ and not by our works of exaltation, but by Grace and Mercy.
meditate Today both are humble, if we have attitude Pharisee or tax collector. We continue this morning devotional greetings and remember tell another person to read the devotional, thanks.
